This program is designed by Wellcome and Nature to celebrate breakthroughs in mental health science. It aims to accelerate translation, influence policy and transform lives by championing new pharmacological, psychological, social and digital interventions from around the world.
Entries must be supported by high-quality data and will be evaluated on the basis of novelty, credibility, effectiveness and adoptability.
If English is not your first language, you may wish to use translation software to translate the questions into your first language and to translate your answers back into English. We recommend using DeepL.
The Spinoff Prize aims to encourage and give visibility to academic entrepreneurs and their companies.
The judging panel will look for spinoffs that translate original, high-quality scientific research into products and services that address market problems and are well positioned to make a positive impact on society. The Spinoff Prize will focus on spinoff companies founded on research in life sciences or physical sciences, both of which can include digital technology approaches i.e. including artificial intelligence, deep learning, neuromorphic computing and quantum computing.
A longlist will be profiled in an online special report published in Nature, alongside the list of the companies deemed the ‘ones to watch’.
Finalist spinoffs will pitch at the slam panels on 7th and 8th July in Heidelberg, Germany. The winner will receive a €30,000 cash prize.
